Studies show that cruelty to animals may be one of the first
symptoms of conduct disorders to appear in young children;
earlier than bullying, cruelty to people, vandalism,
or setting fires.

The Link is an alliance of professionals working in the fields
of prevention and intervention in family violence and animal
welfare. It is a resource for those on the frontline of the battle
against animal and human abuse, as well as for other professionals.

In 88% of homes where animals are abused, there is also substantial
child abuse. This number grows everyday, and the need for education
and training on how to help, and even prevent this link from forming
is in high demand. The Link and the CACP fulfills this need by offering
training that can help to recognize and respond to abuse of animals
and people, and to identify the link that exists between the two.
